For $59, you get four tickets (a $120 value). The Canadian Mens Chorus pays tribute to veterans and current members of the military in Honour: We Remember, the second instalment of a newly annual tradition. Uniformed in tartan regalia, the Halton Regional Police Service Pipes and Drums ensemble joins the gentlemen of the choir in a respectful concert, where a cast of thespians also reenacts harrowing, heartlifting stories of war. Forming the centerpiece of this sonorous dedication are the premieres of High Flight and Not Dead, two CMCcommissioned works by Canadian composer Dr. Mark Sirett. Notable for his gentle Celtic melodies and his prolific writing career, Sirett has earned multiple composing and conducting awards while working with the Cantabile Choirs in Kingston. Rounding out the program is the gentle build of Stephen Chatmans In Flanders Fields, as well as works by Eleanor Daley, the composer behind the rising elegy In Remembrance. |
